Role Allocation & Casting

Our group of 3 consisted of:

Alex Hawkesford (me) - Acting as the “alpha-male leader” character.

Jamal Leigh-Hanson - Acting as the “tech-guy” character.

Sam Walker - Acting as the “scared guy” character.

The plot for the story was a collaborative effort between all three of us, and is a result of our compiled ideas; from this we developed our storyboard and Jamal wrote up a script. I was the cameraperson for most of the shots, except for when I had to be on-screen, in which case the cameraperson would be Sam. For the shots where all three of us had to be on screen, we had an off-screen helper. The responsibilities of the director were split between Jamal and I, and we used the storyboard to navigate and “design” the shots. I and Jamal also worked collaboratively on the titles, making sure they stood out from the background and the motion paths were correct. We all came up with several possible songs, then came to a joint agreement on which soundtrack we should use. The editing job was split between Sam and me, as he has done previous work with Sony Vegas and video editing. We each played an acting role too, to cause less hassle with filming schedules. Jack Harrison also helped out by playing an acting role in the film.
